The university click is an academic, non-profit-making publishing house that is typically affiliated by having the big research university. It produces chiefly scholarly works. Because scholarly books come mostly unprofitable, university presses can likewise publish trade books, textbooks, and reference works, which tend to have big audiences & sell extra copies. Virtually all university presses work nonplused & must become subsidized by their page universities. A select few, notably Yale University Press, are self-self-sufficing, typically because of endowments.

Oxford University Press and Cambridge University Press are the two big university presses in the globe. A joint venture of McGill and Queens universities. Publishes scholarly works.
